A Story on Friendship

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Iraq. He called his parents from Florida.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me.

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know," the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on an IED and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the Miami police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide.

The grief-stricken parents flew to Miami and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!! There's a miracle called Friendship That dwells in the heart You don't know how it happens Or when it gets started But you know the special lift It always brings. And you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious gift!

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show your friends how much you care....

Yet another extremist threatens my life

An apparent Islamic fundamentalist has asked people if they want me dead using Yahoo Answers as the forum. The user known as aahz22271 asks:

Have you ever wanted to abort Alexander Cornswalled?
I think that Alexander Cornswalled should be aborted. The problem is that he is over 100 trimesters and there may be legal issues in aborting him at this stage in his life. Do you think that changing the laws to accomodate the flushing of this stinkpickle to the great septic tank in the sky would be beneficial to the environment as well as the housing market?

Additional Details
Cornswalled is a douche who runs a right-wing conservative "Christian" website that attacks people based upon their beliefs. He's ugly, despicable and just a complete waste of good real estate.

And he fists baby seals. Jigooo.

I replied to this "question" with the following:

Why not say what you mean.

You're advocating my murder because you disagree with my conservative views.

It's psychotic death obsessed psychopaths like you that show just how sick and twisted your kind are. I had to do some digging to find out what you meant by "Jigooo" and found it's a battle cry for Islamic Fundamentalists. While I'm not surprised a terrorist is threatening my life, I'm surprised you were foolish enough to do so in such a public forum. Adding an extra "o" won't keep people form finding out you're using an old anti-Jewish slur as your "greeting."

Jesus will never abandon you

The website "fmylife.com" is a place where people go to complain about their lives to anonymous strangers. Most of them are either about teenagers being dumped in horrible ways, or people being caught in infidelity or cruelty. This one however is different:

Today, I made an appointment with a therapist because lately I've been feeling alone and like no one cares about me. I waited at her office for about forty minutes before the receptionist informed me that she must have forgotten about the appointment. I was stood up by even my therapist. FML

Christ never abandons you, never leaves you and never turns a deaf ear to your problems. God will ALWAYS be there to listen to you, especially when the people around you have abandoned you.

The poster who was abandoned by their therapist needs to realize that they're misplacing their faith, that they should be listening to and telling their problems to God, not a fallible human pretending to be a confessor.

Christian Warrior Chad Farnan

I recently learned of the efforts of Chad Farnan to get an atheist teacher to stop bullying Christian students in class. He was successful in the first round of legal battles and I hope he presses on to make an example of this heathen and his desire to attack and destroy the Church of Christ.

I recently sent the following e-mail to Chad:

I recently learned of your efforts to fight encroaching atheism in
your school district.

Congratulations on your legal victory!

God willing this will be the end of this man's career and he'll never be in a position to harm children or warp their minds again. I find atheists to be immoral, often rejecting God as a means of avoiding the consequences of their evil. Have the police investigated this soon to be former teacher for potential ties to pedophilia or homosexuality? Far too communities in the USA see overt atheism and hostility to God as a justifiable reason to investigate to see what crimes and guilt drove them to deny God.

Please press on. You need to make an example of this atheist. These Satan inspired deniers of Christ need to be show what happens to them when they attack God in a Christian nation. They need to be rooted out and thrown away. Press on young man, and don't stop until every last penny this man has is yielded up in court fees and penalties. Don't stop until he's forced to spend the rest of his God-hating life
flipping burgers with half his wages garnished to pay settlements.

This is a battle for the souls of millions. We can give Satan no quarter.
