Christian Medicine

I've been asked about my support of natural and homeopathic medicines. Specifically I've been accused of hypocrisy in supporting such medicine in the face of my statement that illness is, by and large divinely caused for our punishment and correction.

In the past I specifically mentioned treating a broken bone as permissible. There are numerous Bible references to binding up and healing woulds and injury, and the book of Job shows us that sometimes adversity will be visited upon us for our own testing and ultimate benefit. Job, being a righteous man, did not use any forbidden treatments, so his handling of boils is useful in learning what is and is not permitted.

To clarify my stance on homeopathy, homeopathic remedies are nothing more than a form of preparation. The nature of it's composition dictates it's permissibility more than the method in which it is prepared. It's clear that all medicine is by default forbidden and useless:

Jeremiah:
46:11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of
Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be
cured.

Certain remedies are however permitted as outlined in scripture:

The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel

47:11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not
be healed; they shall be given to salt.

47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that
side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade,
neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new
fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of
the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf
thereof for medicine.

Here we see that only healthy, productive plants are to be used for food and medicine. Specifically, we're granted permission to use all the plants for their healing powers. Notice that the Bible's numerous warnings against drunkenness apply to the mental states produced by plants as well as alcohol, so this is NOT a blanked permission to smoke marijuana.

Verse 11 tells us not to use salt marsh plants for medicine or food. If you've ever walked past a salt marsh in the fall or spoken to someone who lives downwind of one you'll know why such a putrid, unhealthy place would be barred as a source of medicine.

There are other references to the permitted uses of herbs in treatment. The purity laws for example give directions for making soap and incense for ceremonial use. These agents have been shown by modern researchers to posses healing and antibacterial powers well beyond what anyone at the time knew of.

Hygiene is also permissible, having been ordained in Jewish law as recorded in the Bible. The extent of that hygiene was the extreme edge of what was possible at the time. Therefore we know that hygiene is permissible to the extent possible in our time.

All of this is just the tip of the iceberg. A close reading of books such as Leviticus would be needed to better understand the specifics of what is and is not permitted by God, but I hope this introduction will be enough to set to rest the claims that I'm being contradictory by saying illness is from God but some medicines are still permissible. God may send us illness to test or correct us, but he also gives us a limited range of medicine and treatment which we are allowed to use.

Liberals Advocating Violence

Liberals are now advocating the use of violence against future Vice President Plain. The video below is an example of the kind of hate mongering being used to attack the Republican ticket.



This is just a few weeks after an obscure New York lesbian comic hit national news by calling upon her black friends to gang rape Plain if she came to New York city. The threats were taken so seriously that Palin's planned visit to that city was canceled. The resulting high security net thrown around her has resulted in the MSM claiming the McCain campaign is afraid to let he speak unhindered.

I don't like the fact that a woman is trying to step into a man's role, or the liberal stance McCain has on may issues, but in the current election they are the best choice for a Christian America. Even if I were to disagree with them enough to vote for Obama, advocating violence against a presidential candidate is a vile, cowardly thing to do. Call for God to guide the voters, ask for a sign the nation cannot ignore, but the fact that Liberals are calling for the injury, torture and death of Plain is a sign of just how twisted and soulless they have become.

A dangerous virus infecting PCs

Our Church is currently dealing with a virus that has infected several of our computers. We first learned of this virus when a notepad window would come up with the following text:

Our computer support is provided by volunteer church members who work with computers professionally. One of them informed us that this is a bug in a virus known as a "keylogger." A keylogger records your keystrokes, including passwords, and sends them to a third party. We believe this keylogger may have been responsible for several security breaches in recent months.

The resolution is for this problem is unfortunately extreme. The virus infects a number of critical system files, making it impossible to cure the infection without rending the computer inoperable. Each of the infected computers are being returned to their factory state using the system restore CDs that came with them when they were either purchased or donated.

Our Church is blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers to help us with issues like these, to keep the church's office running in tip-top shape.

Leave it to a plumber to clean out the crap

Thanks to a plumber's honest questions about Obama's tax plans, McCain is surging in the pols, rapidly closing the gap between him an Obama. Once you take into account the tendency of Liberal voters to lie about if they would vote for a black candidate (About 6% to 10%) McCain is now AHEAD of Obama in the polls.

This is the result of one man doing his best to live the American Dream. Joe the Plumber is working to buy the business where he's a partner. If he does, that business will make more than Obama's pathetically low "Gonna tax you into the poor house" income cap. Joe wanted to know how Obama could justify basically killing his chances of living off the income from buying the business.

Obama's reply was a vapid, predictable and stereotyped line about spreading the wealth around.

Stick a fork in him, he's done. McCain has been saved by the blue collar workers that form the bedrock of the Republican party. I for one am glad to see the socialist Muslim on the ropes about to be defeated in the final round.

It's the end of the line "Tax and Spend." I hope you enjoyed the trip. Too bad you weren't also running for reelection in your home state. Come January we can see the back side of you as you walk out of Washington.

Don't worry though Obama. I'm sure they have an opening for you as a community organizer. You do better with responsibility free jobs anyway.

In a glimmer of hope for the future of the Anglican Church, the Anglican Rector to the London Stock Exchange used his blog to proposed tattooing a health warning on the backsides of all homosexuals. The specific tattoo in question was "Sodomy can seriously damage your health."

Sadly, Rev Peter Mullen has since backpedaled on his statements, claiming they were satire and deleting the blog entry. Fortunately fragments of the purged entry have survived. I'll quote the ones I've been able to find.

We can only hope more Christian men and women stand up to the Homosexual Agenda, and unlike Rev Peter Mullen not back down when challenged by the Political Correctness police.

The aftermath of the Gloucester whores

Planned Parenthood has used the rash of teen pregnancies in Gloucester, MA to force the distribution of high failure rate condoms in the school.

The most twisted aspect of the decision that that the teen pregnancies, which cost the principal his job, were the result of a pact between the teenagers, some of them going so far as to have sex with an area homeless man in a deliberate attempt to get pregnant. The idea that passing out condoms to these degenerate women would have prevented the pregnancy is something only a moron could harbor.

Critics of abstinence only sex education have pointed the the Gloucester 17 as a reason to end abstinence only education, but this criticism suffers from a fatal flaw. Gloucester, MA was not using abstinence only education. The worst rash of teen pregnancies in recent years was in a school district using the more degenerate, graphic education systems that advocate homosexuality and don't even address abstinence.

The school district has chosen to further entrench their dependence upon shoddy, failed education models, and are shunning the proven strategy of abstinence only education. One wonders what they'll do when more pregnancies result. A cover up is their likely first step. Actual efforts to stop the pregnancies will not even be on the agenda.

Chicago wants to build gays only school

The city of Chicago has sunk to a new low of depravity by starting efforts to build a school for Homosexuals. A far cry from the kind of faith building, life changing education that has rescued millions for the grips of sodomy, this perverted deviance would reinforce the recruitment lies of the Homosexual agenda that were used to recruit these children in the first place.

Chicago plans to make a mockery of nature itself by declaring homosexuality not only "normal" but by supporting it with tax dollars. That's right, Illinois tax dollars will be used to indoctrinate young men and women into the homosexual agenda.

We are ALL sinners, and have fallen short of God's will. Illness is a punishment from God. Our Father uses correction to direct us to the right path.

7) Do you know any people who have never gotten sick? (And hence, have never sinned?)

Only Christ is without sin. To imply otherwise is blasphemy.

8) What do you do when YOU get sick?
I pray to God and ask his forgiveness. I also ask him to guide me and cast the scales from my eyes so I may see the folly that has lead me to illness.

Further action depends upon the nature of the illness. For example a broken bone must be set by a doctor. Since sin brings tragedy upon us, we cannot expect God to heal such injuries unless a miracle will bring him glory and praise. Knowing WHICH medical treatment is permissible and which is hubris is a difficult path to walk. On the one hand you have arrogance in the eyes of God, and in the other you have the very real threat of turning away aid that God permits to a sinful, fallen creature.

Leviticus is of tremendous help to us in these debates. Any medical or lifestyle practice that can justifiably be described as descended from Biblical law will be permissible. The use of bleach as a cleaning agent for example, is in perfect accordance with Biblical laws regarding ritual cleanliness and the removal of housing components infected with mold.

Things like Insulin are forbidden, because it's manufacture violates the Biblical injunction against mixing species.

There's an ongoing debate about the removal of an infected appendix. While no one in the family has had to deal with appendicitis, there's a desire to know WHAT to do should the need arise.

You are correct on both points. We are all God's children, which is why God sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so that we may be reunited with him after we die. Those who reject Christ will perish. God will be forced to turn his back upon them and send them away, to the place where the rebellious and fallen angels dwell.

Also as Christians only account for about a 1/3 of the world, does that mean that God will be banishing 2/3's of us?

Sadly, yes, this means about 2/3 of those alive today are exiling themselves form God by refusing to accept Jesus Christ as their savior.

Whore of Babylon crushes Mushmouth

As much as I detest the fact that a woman may soon be in the White House, Palin is growing on me.

In last night's debates she not only held her own, but decimated democratic VP candidate Biden. While Biden mumbled though barely intelligible fake enthusiasm Palin was straightforward and to the point.

Whenever Palin made a crushing comment about Obama's hypocritical campaign, Biden stumbled through a failed attempt to respond by making lame, off the cuff, inaccurate attacks on McCain, never really defending Obama in any substantive way.

While Palin's gender means she'll never be taken seriously on the international scene, she can at least hold her own in defending the man she's serving under.

Unfortunately for Christians, there is a dard side, an unanswered question about Palin. Why did God curse her family? Is her retarded child merely God's retribution for her entering a Man's world, much like the death of David and Bathsheba's first son was punishment for David's adultery and murder, or is there a darker sin in her past for which she is being punished?

As much as I detest the notion of a Muslim entering the White House, I'm concerned what unknown sins Palin and her family are hiding. She has one son who entered the military to avoid trouble with the law and a whore daughter who had a child out of wedlock. Is this latest family tragedy merely God giving her a child who won't be harmed or corrupted by her incompetent parenting? I hope so, because if there is a dark skeleton in her closet, Obama is likely to uncover it and use it to his advantage.

Will Bidden's anti-Semitism Sink Obama?

After weeks of basing McCain's running mate the Democrats are starting to taste a bit of justice as Bidden's racist and ignorant comments come into the fray.

He's openly ridiculed Jews, claiming their love of arguing holds them back in sporting contests.

He claimed that FDR was president at the start of the Great Depression and that the dominant media was Television. Television, for the record, came a couple of decades AFTER the Great Depression, and Hoover was president when the stock market collapse plunged the nation into economic catastrophe. You'd think Bidden, a Democrat, would relish in the fact that the Depression started when a Republican was in office.

With the nation on the verge of a similar economic disaster, you'd think Bidden would bone up on the basics of the last time the nation was hit this hard. Apparently, the kind of hard core economic education being undertaken by Palin is beneath him.

Democrats are getting worried. In a turn of events the Mainstream Media would never have predicted, the Democratic odds makers are betting Palin will be the clear victor in the pending Vice Presidential debate, as all she'll need to do is keep a cool head while she waits for Bidden to spout off more factually flawed and racist diatribes on national television.

Why would Obama be OK with a racist running mate? That's a simple one. Based on Bidden's on the record comments, he only hates the Jews. If Obama really is a Muslim, as 45% of Americans believe him to be, he's likely to share that attitude.

Once again, yes, I'm for real

Every time a new group of people finds my blog, there's the inevitable rounds of e-mail and posts asking if I'm "real". Liberals flat out refuse to believe that people exist who share my beliefs. Other critics admit that my beliefs may be real, but insist I'm too articulate to be someone who actually holds the beleifs I write about.

Here's a news flash for all those critics:

I'm real, my beleifs are real, and there are plenty of articulate people who share them. Pretending Conservative Christians are all inbred degenerates living in the woods won't make it so.
