The Skeptics Guide Responds

The Skeptics Guide to the Universe has already issued a response to my review of their Podcast. To tell the truth I'm somewhat surprised they replied. Normally the subject of one of my reviews has a thread about it in their own discussion forum and leaves it at that.

The review was written by Rebecca Watson of the SGU. She's the female host of the program. Most of the male hosts share a surname and are, I assume, related.

In her review she replies to the points I made that she felt most relevant and in need of commentary. She also complimented her fans on their replies to my original review, and plunged into a few other pages of my blog to point out where she disagreed with me on issues like vaccination.

I have little to say about her review. It's largely the kind of rationalization I've come to expect. I do however want to make a few points.

She comments on my post "The Coward who could save Billions of Lives." In it she criticized me for accepting the word of an anonymous source, clearly ignoring the fact that the entire POINT of the post was my complaining about the fact that the source is in fact anonymous. Such cherry picking attempts at criticism fall flat when you read my actual article about the unknown vaccine researcher and his claims.

Surely she can admit that if the interview is genuine and accurate then serious questions about the safety of vaccines are raised. The problem is, the source is refusing to come forward and reveal himself. This is a cowardly act if the interview is genuine. Miss Watson and myself agree on the fact that the source needs to come forward.

She further comments on my mention of the fiction of "Separation of Church and State" and pretends I was criticizing the Founding Fathers with the comments. She admits the phrase "Separation of Church and State" never appears in the Constitution and even quotes the passage revisionists use to cram the "Separation" claim into the Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .

What I didn't spell out in my SGU review is that I do not blame the Founding Fathers, most of them pastors, for the fiction of "Separation of Church and State." The frequent appeals to God in their writing and the overall bodies of their works, make it clear that they saw Christendom as the cornerstone of the nation.

The myth of a church / state barrier was injected years, even decades later by humanist thinkers seeking to exclude God from the pubic sphere. I think my understanding of the Constitution's actual words is highlighted in my essay "It's legal for the states to ban Islam." The Constitution's goal was to prevent the Federal Government from making a national religion, in part because many of the original 13 states already HAD an official religion.

The Fed is banned from making laws regarding religion, not the states. A stab against federal hegemony is being misused to alienate God himself.

Finally, she goes over some of my previous podcast reviews and agrees with most of them. I guess there's hope for her after all.

Planned Parenthood guilty of fraud?

Courtesy of One News Now

Allie Martin - OneNewsNow EXCLUSIVE - 9/29/2008 6:00:00 AM

A collection of faith-based groups is asking the federal government to investigate allegations that affiliates of Planned Parenthood in California may have fraudulently charged the federal government millions of dollars.

Planned Parenthood receives federal funding through the Title X Family Planning program, a 90-percent Medicaid match for family planning, and a federal program to purchase drugs from manufacturers at a reduced price.

In 2004, state auditors in California began reviewing Planned Parenthood affiliates; however, the audit was stopped after only one review was completed. That review found that Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside counties overbilled the government more than $5.2 million. Ray Ruddy, president of Gerard Health Foundation, is leading the call for the federal investigation.

"Everybody, since Revolutionary times, has been billing the federal government at the cost -- that is the invoice cost to them, plus a fee," Ruddy explains. "Planned Parenthood in California -- and we suspect [other Planned Parenthood agencies] across the country -- has been billing at what they call their normal and customary rates."

Ruddy has written Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt, asking for a federal audit of Planned Parenthood. Internet ads have also been placed, which encourage federal contractors to use the same billing methods as Planned Parenthood.

"It looks to us, very much, that we found there are a separate set of rules for Planned Parenthood than the rest of us -- and there should not be. That's why the lawsuit was filed," he contends. "Hopefully the court will act on this, and everybody should be operating under the same set of rules."

So far, Ruddy says he has not received a response from the federal government. In all, Ruddy estimates Planned Parenthood could have overcharged the government hundreds of millions of dollars.

Game Reviews: Spore

There's been a lot of heated discussion about the new computer game "Spore" lately. In order to better understand and comment on this game and its impact upon Christian youth I did something none of the other Christian reviewers have done.

I played the game.

The main criticism of the game is that it endorses evolution and promotes a "try and see if it works" vision of creation. Even when not explicitly endorsing evolution it, according to its critics, promotes the idea that God was just trying different things to see if they would work. The reviewers further wen out and showed photos of "creatures" that were obscene or resembled genitalia.

The reality of the game is very different and I think Christians are missing out on a tremendous opportunity to use popular media for evangelism.

The game is simple in concept. You design a creature and then set it loose in the world. If you made a mistake, such as failing to give it the ability to eat, it will die. If it out competes the other creatures it will survive.

The actual "evolution" in the game is limited to a creature surviving or dying based on how well it's adapted to its environment. At no point in game play does the creature actually change form one type of creature into another. All of the "evolution" is micro evolution, variation within the created type.

The actual design phase is where the creature is advanced. The design phase is where you step into the role of the creator and build or modify your creation. Critics claim that this is evil because it's not a reflection of how God created the universe. I think its brilliant because it shows just how HARD designing a creature can be.

The game only gives you a tiny, finite number of variations compared to the complexity of creating an actual living creature from scratch. Even that is HARD to do right. The game highlights the fact that random evolution simply can't create creatures as complex as the life around us. It further demonstrates that the intelligence needed to create life must be orders of magnitude beyond our own.

After playing the game for a couple of hours, I sat down with the young man who'd let me use his copy and we spoke at length about the complexity of life and the difficulty involved in building even a simple simulated creature. We wondered at the incredible intellect God must posses to have designed even a simple, single celled organism, let alone humanity.

God has given us a fascinating tool in the game Spore and I encourage Christians to find ways to exploit it for God's work instead of fight or ban it.

Podcast Reviews: The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe

As part of my ongoing work with our Church, I've been tasked with reviewing the media being consumed by the youth in our congregation. Today I'm reviewing a Podcast entitled "The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe" or the SGU to its fans. As in my past reviews, I listened to three episodes in their entirety.

The SGU bills itself as an analytical podcast. They claim to be skeptical of any and all claims made by just about anyone. There are of course exceptions. The hosts pretty much accept global warming as gospel truth and they're all unapologetic atheists. They go so far as to routinely ridicule Christians for having religious beliefs.

The podcast is as anti-Christian as they come. Even if you set aside the wholesale endorsement of vaccination, their wholesale rejection of homeopathy, their complete lack of regard for anything supernatural and their unthinking acceptance of all things humanist there's still their constant ridicule of Christ and his followers.

There is nothing redeemable in this podcast. It's a propaganda mouthpiece for Satan and his followers. The content is a lock step repetition of the same humanist lies that have plagued the United States since the invention of the "separation of Church and State" fiction.

Despite their lock step service to Satan and the intellectual dishonesty of claiming to be skeptical while accepting the same beliefs as the rest of their peer group, I can't help but feel sorry for these people. This is because of one episode where they interviewed an atheist musician who had written a song about his dog's death. This song was an attempt by someone with no belief in an afterlife to deal with the death of his pet. The shoddy, hopeless, empty shell of "consolation" he came up with was so "moving" to other atheists that one of them had this song, about the death of a DOG, played at his mother's funeral.

What was the best the atheists could come up with to console them on the death of a loved one?

"The deceased won't have to miss me."

Despite everything these people are doing to drag souls to Hell, I can't help but pity such lost, hopeless, pathetic creatures.

Republican women vs democratic women

Join the Republican party, we have all the hot women.

Another ugly actor reveals he's gay

The week wouldn't be complete without yet ANOTHER homosexual in Hollywood coming out of the closet. The routine is getting old as more and more people realize what Conservatives have been saying for years: Hollywood is run by homosexuals.

This time the newly revealed sodomite is Clay Aiken. No, I'd never heard of him either. Apparently coming out is considered a career boosting move in Hollywood. Clay can use all the help he can get. A quick look at Clay's filmography reveals a long string of talk show appearances, a few TV cameos and little else.

Oh, wait, apparently he was on an episode of Ellen.

I wonder if anyone familiar with his career was surprised when he came out? I doubt it.

Striking back with humor

Since the hackers who took over my blog a while back thought it would be a riot to post a bunch of stupid, liberal images to my site, I thought it only fitting that I respond with a few images of my own.

Doomsday machine offline, for now

The Large Hadron Collider, which many believe will create a black hole that will destroy the Earth, has been taken offline for repairs. It turns out the hardware does not perform as expected and is incapable of actually accelerating particles at the speeds scientists want.

Fears of a black hole engulfing the Earth have been fueled by the fact that the Biblical description of the Earth "Rolling up like a scroll" on judgment day is consistent with the effects of a black hole swallowing the planet.

Fear of the LHC is of course, unfounded. While Christians have known for some time that we are living in the end times and Jesus' return is imminent, the LHC can't destroy the Earth, at least not yet. Revelations describes a global tribulation in which the Antichrist rises to power and rules the Earth for seven years. This HAS NOT HAPPENED. The Earth cannot be destroyed until Biblical prophecy comes to fruition.

It seems quite likely that the LHC may be the mechanism of Earth's destruction, but not until after the Antichrist has risen and Judgment day has come.

Proof Liberals are in charge of the investigation

No Indictment in Palin Email Hack

Let's take stock of the situation. We have the son of a democratic politician hacking an e-mail address being used by the governor of Alaska. He publishes the data he finds online, including personal photos of her family and official correspondence. He then publishes a full, bragging confessions that includes his real e-mail address.

What, exactly, is needed for the police to arrest this jackass and toss him in prison?

While I think it's a tragedy that a woman is on the verge of becoming vice president, I recognize that as distasteful as the prospect is, the alternative of a Muslim pretending to be Christian is even worse.

I feel Palin's pain. As regular readers of my blog know I too was recently hacked and my personal web site and e-mail taken over by a criminal. I was blessed by God however and was able to use local law enforcement to have the issue addressed. Yes, it was a bit of an end run around procedure, but I doubt anyone will be concerned with a small town cop walking up to a hacker and saying, in effect "If you don't make this right I'll have to call the feds, and they won't let you off the hook the ANYTHING."

It's a shame Palin couldn't have used a similar tactic to get this hacker taken care of.

The coward who could save billions of lives

Sometimes a brave man comes forward and saves lives, often giving his won life for the sake of others. Sadly it's more common for people to sit in their tiny hole, cowardly protecting themselves for fear of being persecuted for telling the truth.

Then there are the truly reprehensible people, the ones who make an empty, useless gesture to assuage their conscience even though it accomplishes noting to actually save anyone. It's that kind of reprehensible coward I'm writing about today.

One of the clearing houses for vaccine information is hardtruth.navhost.com One one of that site's pages there's an interview with a former vaccine researcher. That man comes clean about the dangers and lies surrounding vaccines, blowing the lid off the conspiracies and money grubbing that has lead to billions being injected with poison.

The problem is the man, the researcher remains anonymous. He doesn't even reveal which vaccines he worked on for fear of being identified. He gives some lame excuses for his secrecy on the web site, but let's be honest, if I were in a position to save BILLIONS of lives, even if it were to cost me my own life, I'd do it. Standing up to evil requires courage and faith, but this researcher has neither.

He never reveals any proof of his or her claims or gives any reason why we should believe them. The fear of being persecuted is cowardly, especially since this person is claiming vaccines are part of a plan to kill over 3 billion people.

Aside from the fact that this unknown voice is saying things we agree with, what proof do we have of their honesty? I ask this because the major hurdle I encounter in arguing against vaccination is that people are more inclined to trust a man in a lab coat than an anonymous interviewee on a web site.

Does anyone have additional information on this researcher? Is there a way of verifying his story? I'd hoped for someone who had come out who could prove they had worked on specific vaccines, but this person is letting the fear of FBI and IRS harassment keep him from really stepping forward in a case that could save the lives of 3 Billion people! If this coward really came forward he could save lives. Is there a way to drag him into the light?

By refusing to come forward, he allows his critics to continue ignoring him. He severely limits the number of people who will believe him. As it is he's only reinforcing the beliefs of the people who already know the truth about vaccines. No one will be swayed by such an unknown and unverified source! All he's doing is preaching to the choir.

His fear is rank cowardice. He values his own life more than the lives of half the planet. The hubris and arrogance that lead him to become a vaccine researcher has not left him.

He could be saving millions, perhaps BILLIONS of lives. Instead he's hiding under a rock like an insect. He may have "come forward" but he hasn't atoned for what he's done. His interview is an empty gesture, useless for teaching people the truth.

He's an accomplice to genocide, and by continuing to hide he's remaining an accomplice. The blood of millions is upon his hands.

Vaccines

Vaccines have been in the news a lot lately. More and more people are finding out that vaccines don't even provide immunity, but often cause the disease they're supposed to prevent!

I'm glad that more and more people are avoiding vaccines, but it saddens me that they're doing it for the wrong reasons. They're convinced that vaccines cause autism. Yes, vaccines cause autism, but not the way people think. Autism, and the diseases for which there are vaccines, are judgments from God, punishment for our hubris.

Sickness and disease are judgments from God. If we seek healing we need to make ourselves right with God. Vaccines are pure human arrogance, hubris, ego. They're an attempt by humanists to spit in the face of God and turn their backs to his aid. Autism is a punishment from God to strike the children of egotists who get vaccinations. It's punishment from God for having the audacity to inject a liquid blasphemy into your child's veins.

If you don't trust God to protect your family then don't be surprised when God removes his protection and lets Satan strike your family down.

The Disappointing Presidential Options

I wasn't happy when a Liberal won the Republican nomination. Now I'm even LESS happy with his choice of a Vice President. He chose a woman.

A woman.

He seeks to place a woman in a seat of power, to elevate a woman above all the other men in the nation. He wants to upset the natural order of the universe, to spit in God's face and to place a woman a heartbeat away from ruling the free world.

He wants a creature subject to PMS and menopause to have the power to initiate a nuclear war.

What, in the name of GOD is this idiot thinking??? Doesn't he remember what a disaster it was when a woman ran the UK? Doesn't he remember what a mess Hillary Clinton made of things when she was co-president with Bubba? Is he really senile and stupid as to think a woman can actually run a country?

The options are poor. On the left we have a Muslim and a loudmouth and on the other we have an Alzheimer's patient and his brainless arm candy. God helps us, we need all the aid we can get.

Back in the Saddle Again

For the last few weeks, this Blog had been taken over by a hacker. That hacker has lost control of the blog. Once identified, the police paid him a visit. He broke down and made a plea bargain. He would return control of the Blog to me in exchange for not facing any charges.

Being a forgiving Christian and not a vindictive heathen, I accepted his offer.

This is my Blog again. I'm still cleaning up the damage the hacker left behind, but you can expect a return to normalcy in the near future.

Sincerely,

The REAL Alexander Cornswalled
