A return to action

I haven't been online much lately. The Church is growing by leaps and bounds and now we're drawing in parishioners from over 30 miles away! Membership has tripled in the last six months and the we've added a second Sunday Service to accommodate the growing congregation. I've been overseeing some of the preliminary work for a new expansion. We're adding a weekday day care center and a cry room off the Narthex. Everyone is very excited and the preparations are taking up a lot of time.

The day care is a pilot program for higher ambitions. We hope to open a private school within the next two years. The day care will help us gauge interest in Christian education in the area. The ongoing liberalization of the public schools have left many people disenchanted and yearning for something better.

I've been getting a lot of e-mail the last few days about Tim Henson and his "Distorted View" podcast. Apparently he was talking about me on a recent episode. People want to know how I feel about the fact that he's still on the air. My answer is, I don't mind. After some initial confrontations I forced him to end his "Sextastic Tuesday" skit, and while I've been told he occasionally revives it, he no longer used underage characters in the pornography he reads. While vile, disgusting and juvenile, the program is for the moment legal. I'm preparing a letter writing campaign to the FCC, asking them to apply FCC broadcast regulations to US produced Podcasts and web sites. The initial response has been encouraging, but with most my efforts focused on the Church, progress has been slow.

I'm surprised at how many people thought FCC guidelines were already being applied to US produced web sites. A big part of the education process is showing people that obscenity laws are being outright ignored, and that the current crop of Internet Filtering technology fails to adequately block adult web sites. Once people understand this, their support for law to bring the FCC into regulating the Internet is easy to procure.

Is Obama the Child of Communists?

Obama has done a great job of obfuscating his real origins and the circumstances of his upbringing. The cover up over his overtly Muslimchildhood and education has been handily swept under the carpet. Now, a new issue has a arisen. As Russia grows in power and moves ever closer to a full blown return to Communism, the past ties to the formerUSSR are becoming more and more important.

Lisa Schiffren writes on the National Review that there's significant evidence that Obama's parents were themselves communists. Even the Civil Rights groups were keeping interracial marriages at arm's length at the time when Obama's parents met and married, and the few multiracial couples that existed at the time inevitably had ties to the Communist party.

Do we really want a president who has known ties to soviet era Communism running the country during a Russian Communist Revival?
