I am writing to enquire as to how you draw the conclusions evident on your website, but firstly I wish to make the following clear. I have, for the last year, been a listener of Distorted View. I have, at no point, been tempted to commit any sexual act with a minor, and I do not believe that any other listeners have. What you need to understand about Distorted View is that it is not meant to be taken seriously. We, the listeners, have all grasped this fact, and thus we have taken it to be, as it was intended, a comedy podcast.
I appreciate your level headed tone, and this appreciation is enhanced by the crass, vulgar and immature replies I've received form the majority of your fellow "Distorted View" fans. You may be able to process the Podcast as pure entertainment with no impact on your actions, but I do not believe that is the case with the rest of the show's fans. It's clear that most of the listeners are motivated by prurient desires, and are more than happy to engage in whatever deviance they can think of.
Now, in a response to an enquiry from another listener, you mentioned that you would advocate making Islam illegal in the United States of America. This was, as you said, a measure taken to prevent terrorism in the U.S. Are you aware, however, that in the Koran, just as in the Bible, you can find verses advocating peace and those advocating violence? There are, you should understand, also Christian radicals.
No Christian Radicals have flown planes into US buildings, and the death toll from Christian Radicals in the USA is easily under 100 for the last 50 years. More people are killed by bee stings or lightning than by Christian radicals.
Christian Radicals are not being backed by entire governments. No nations are bankrolling Christian radicals.
More to the point, most Christians speak out against and condemn the handful of radicals that have arisen, often declaring their claims of being "Christian" to be fraudulent. Muslims have largely remained silent, refusing to condemn those who kill in the name of Islam. If "Moderate" Muslims were more vocal, if they stood up and demanded the terrorists STOP ti would be a different matter completely. Buddhist extremists are killing people in Thailand, and no one is advocating Buddhism be outlawed, because Buddhists do NOT support such behavior either explicitly or, as Muslims do, through their silence.
There are countries in which the Bible has been banned dueto the conflicts between Christianity and other religions. I am sure that you are appalled by this. You want everyone to have the right to read and follow what you believe to be the only path to rightousness and eternal bliss. The same would be true for Muslims outside of the U.S.A. You must understand that there are other belief systems than yours. I have for 13 years of my life been a practicing Buddhist. Buddhism can be accreditted with being the only peacable religion in existence. I do not, however, wish to force my faith on others by illegalizing theirs. In fact the prospect is horrific. Everyone should be entitled to believe what they wish.
Your view of Buddhism is skewed.
Buddhist extremists target Christian churches in Sri LankaEvery religion has it's extremists. Most faith's reject them. Islam is the only one to not only accept them, but embrace them.
Secondly, you condemn homosexuality as being a crime against nature. Are you aware that there are plenty of examples within nature of homosexuality?
I've heard a lot about these alleged examples. The problem I have with them is that the closest I've been able to find to an "original" source is a book written by a post op transsexual, using "research" for which he (Or "she" if you take his tack on gender) seems to have access to. The lie of Homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom has become so entrenched through repetition that no one bothers to look into the actual sources.
Humans themselves are also part of nature. What they choose to do, as long as is harms no others, is perfectly acceptable. Every should be entitled to do as they wish, so long as it does not conflict with my last statement. You also stated that 'an employer should be able to fire an employee for the sole reason that they are homosexual'. Try replacing the word homosexual with heterosexual. Or even blonde haired. Do you see how insane that sounds? Yet, if someone is entitled to fire someone because they are homosexual, why should someone with a different discrimination not be able to do the same? After all, it all comes down to different viewpoints so unless you want to persecute others for some kind of thought crime, I suggest you revise this statement. The depiction of homosexuals in the media is also subject to different points of view. It is all down to a viewers interpretation of the depictions. And just so you know, research shows absoloutly no correlation between homosexuality and pedophilia.
Employers fire people for extreme and unnatural hair colors all the time. If you look like a lunatic, don't expect to get and keep a job that requires any degree of interaction with the public.
It's clear form your examples that you're ignoring two vital points:
Homosexuality is a Choice, not something you "are."
Heterosexuality is the moral, biological and ethical norm. Homosexuality is the deviation.
In response to your statements against implanting DNA between species, you cannot say that anything should cease because it violates biblical law. Biblical law advocates slavery, sexism and racism, and clearly is not applicable to modern society.
Biblical Law dictates how Christians should conduct themselves where slavery exists. It does not mandate the existence of slavery.
Aside from the Biblical order to expel the Canaanites form the promised land, I see no real support for racism in the Bible.
As for Sexism, perhaps our reliance upon the fiction of the genders being "equal" is the source of a lot of the discord Western Civilization is experiencing in the home. Feminism and the Divorce Rate have been growing at pretty much the same rate for the last 50 years. The family structure would be more stable if men and women knew and respected their roles in the nuclear family.
